BUILD & BREAK CREW (B&B)
đź’° Rate: ÂŁ15 per hour + travel contribution and crew food
đź“… Start: April | Finish: September
đź“ś Contract: Temporary, flexible (for the summer)
🚧 Help us build pee-equality!
You might have already spotted us at Glastonbury, Download, the London Marathon, or Brighton Pride—and while we can’t announce this year’s locations just yet, we promise they’re exciting!
PEEQUAL is looking for Build & Break Crew to help set up and dismantle our award-winning women’s (and those who squat to pee) urinals at festivals and events across the UK.
🚨 This role is ONLY during build & break days, NOT during live festival days. If you’d like more work, you could also join our Cleaning Crew (which runs during the event days). Let us know in your application if you’re interested in multiple roles!
If you’re practical, reliable, used to manual work, and have a positive mindset, keep reading! 👇
🔨 THE ROLE
- Support the Build & Break Crew Lead (B&BL) to ensure the safe and efficient build and break of PEEQUAL facilities.
- Assemble and dismantle the urinals, positioning bases and constructing walls—think giant LEGO! 🏗️
- Handle equipment & materials, including unloading and loading trucks and lorries.
- Use telehandlers or forklifts (if licensed) to assist with heavy lifting and movement.
- Expect hands-on, physical work—this role involves lifting, carrying, and getting stuck in.
- Wear appropriate workwear—PPE will be provided where required.
- Report any issues or challenges to the B&BL to keep everything on track.
- Work as part of a supportive team, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
- Shifts: Generally 8-10 hours per day, with some shorter half-days (4-5 hours).
- Stay on-site during build & break periods ONLY, either in crew camping or your own live-in vehicle. If needed, PEEQUAL will provide accommodation.
✅ WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
✔️ Event or festival crew experience is a plus but not essential.
✔️ Good time management to ensure deadlines are met.
✔️ Reliable, trustworthy, and flexible with availability and location.
✔️ Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills.
✔️ Able to follow instructions and escalate issues when needed.
✔️ Physically resilient—this role is outdoors and involves heavy lifting.
✔️ Comfortable around waste disposal & sanitation logistics (nothing too gross, we promise!).
🎉 THE PERKS
- Pre-season training so you’re ready to go.
- A welcoming, enthusiastic team and an open-door policy for feedback.
- Be part of a mission to pioneer pee-equality! đźš»
- PPE provided for messier jobs.
- On-site accommodation for when you’re working (mostly crew camping).
- Crew catering or alternative food provisions.
- Guaranteed & agreed hours, with some flexibility required.
- ÂŁ15 per hour + a paid lunch break.
- Travel expenses covered according to PEEQUAL policy.
